9 of CUPS

A cat enjoying moon viewing sake with nine cups lined up in a row. It looks very rich and full. The 9 of CUPS is called the “wish card” or “hope card” that grants wishes.

Also this card means “the highest point one can reach alone”. It must be so full of heart and bosom that the full moon is not missing at all.

This card makes us the waka poem by Fujiwara no Michinaga, ‘The whole world is bright and mine, as the full moon does not have the slightest dent!’
